One of the three fundamental parts that every student must fulfill as part of the Diploma Programme (DP) is creativity, activity, and service (CAS). YIS DP students went on a field excursion to the Karimunjawa islands in Central Java as part of the CAS program. One of the events they participated in was a visit to a local school called Kejora Karimunjawa, where our students spent time reading story books to the students and playing together.

Today, YIS Grade 11 students have a Theory of Knowledge Exhibition, where they showcase their critical thinking, analysis, and engagement with different areas of knowledge and ways of knowing.

In the TOK Exhibition, students are required to create and present an exhibition that demonstrates their understanding and exploration of the key concepts and ideas in the Theory of Knowledge course. It also provides students with an opportunity to reflect on their own knowledge journey and to consider the broader implications of knowledge in various contexts.

The YIS Student Council organized a Talent Bazaar on May 31, 2023, as a wrap-up of Secondary Students' last examination of the academic year and as a bonding festival for the whole community. It was an opportunity for the YIS community to share and showcase their talents while raising funds for a charitable cause.

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme Exhibition is a culminating project that marks the end of the PYP for students in the final year of the programme. The exhibition is designed to be a student-led, inquiry-based learning experience that provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate their learning and showcase their knowledge, skills, and understanding.

We would like to thank all parents of Early Years and Primary Years students who showed up, donated and supported our Grade 5 and 6 students. We also would like to say thank you to the lecturer and students from the English Language Education Study Program of Sanata Dharma University who came to support our students during their PYP Exhibition.

Service as Action (SA) is a requirement of the IB Middle Years Programme that allows students to expand their learning outside of the classroom and into the community. It allows students to interact with and contribute to the actual world. Through the SA program, yesterday, Grade 7 students gave an appreciation to the security guards, the gardeners, and the housekeepers who always take good care of the school and the students by making a "Thank You" video, singing some songs, and sharing some food with them.

Our Preschool and Kindergarten students had a Spring Picnic this morning to enjoy the nice weather, eat nutritious snacks, sing some songs, and play with their friends.

This outdoor activity is one of the ways to teach students about the change of seasons, and what people usually do during springtime. It was really fun! 🥰
